《東洋作家村上春樹的音響系統,三之一》

東洋作家村上春樹1949年生,是浸淫於美國五六o年代流行音樂中成長的愛樂人.

說他愛樂成痴,大概沒人有異議,畢竟他寫的有關音樂的文章,數量絕不少於他的小說.

愛看他談旅行及聆樂的散文(尤其聆樂品味與他很貼近),剛好東洋雜誌SWITCH 37期有一篇《村上春樹音響室》的專文.村上談自己的音樂與音響觀,姑且就錄此一敘,同為音樂與音響迷有頗多堪值借鑒處:

《聽爵士樂時用JBL4530,古典樂,用TANNOY BERKERLY》

村上聽爵士樂時用JBL4530揚聲器,這是他在東京經營爵士樂咖啡館CAT PETER CAFE時的營業喇叭,多年來獨沽一味,從沒換過.

聽古典樂, 他會用TANNOY BERKERLY同軸喇叭,為配合此叭高效率特性及圓潤聲音,他加買了OCTAVE V40SE管機.

(他自承因網路找書方便,已多年不買書了,CD也沒興趣多買,但黑膠是必買品,其實村上國外旅行的至樂之一便是買黑膠,出國常把隨行的妻子撇在一邊,自顧自去黑膠店尋寶,目前藏量已破萬張.)

唱盤：Thorens TD520, LUXMAN PD171A(都是皮帶驅動盤)

擴大機：Accuphase E407晶體綜合擴大機, OCTAVE V40SE管機

村上說:我每天都在這個房間寫作.需要音樂來調劑.

就某方面來說,我算蠻在意音響是否合我意,若音響不好,音樂再好,我也不聽.

總之, 我的系統不在意他人評價,我自己聽了高興就好.我向來不會邀請友朋炫耀我家系統有多棒;所以,很放鬆."

對自己音響的評語:這就是我愛的聲音, 所以器材經年不換.而好聲, 如同好文, 沒特定的標準.合你的就是最好.

每人對好聲的定義都不同,好的寫作也一樣.重要的是,找出什麼對我來說很好... 但相當困難... 換句話說,尋好聲的歷程宛如建立人生觀."

《村上春樹的音響系統,三之二,村上文學中的音樂,由CASA特刊" A ROOM WITH SOUND"談起》

在村上春樹世界登場的人物都極其愛好音樂，書頁中不時樂舞悠揚.

比如,札幌的“海豚賓館”電梯中傳來波爾瑪麗亞“LOVE IS BLUE”，繼而變成PERCY FAITH樂團風靡一時的“a summer place”。突然一切都靜止了，而“我”也就進入了“羊男”所存在的异次元世界。

在《發條鳥年代記》中，“我”一邊煮著通心麵，一邊吹著口哨哼著“鵲賊”序曲時，意外地接到命中註定的女子打來的電話。

而長篇小說IQ84的開頭:「計程車的收音機，正播放著FM電台的古典音樂節目。曲子是楊納切克作曲的小交響曲《SINFONIETTA》。在被捲入塞車陣的計程車裡聽這音樂實在很難說適合。

司機看來也沒有特別熱心地在聽那音樂的樣子。中年司機，簡直像站在船頭觀察不詳海潮浪勢的老練漁夫那樣，只能閉口眺望著前方整排不斷地汽車行列。青豆深深靠在后座，輕輕閉上眼睛聽著音樂。」

更是以古典音樂切題,一啟幕就營造了樂符飄揚/詩意悠然的畫面...

以主角愛聽的音樂開端，並以之為線索貫穿全文的世界觀，在村上春樹看來，再平常不過了;對他而言，音樂早已深入骨髓,完全融入自己生活與靈魂。

村上春樹自中學開始迷戀爵士樂,接著去爵士酒吧打工、唱片行工作、開自己的爵士樂酒吧，再到走上文學道路，可說是在音樂飛舞中激發靈感,創作出一部部風靡世界的作品。

音樂與村上作品隨伴左右，也是引導作品劇情與主人公的心路歷程的關鍵因素。

且來聽聽村上在CASA特刊怎麼談論他的音樂音響觀:

「文章就像音樂，也可以通過字詞、語句、段落、輕硬與輕重、均衡與不均衡、標點符號及語調的組合營造出節奏感。」

如此熱愛音樂的文學大咖，究竟有哪些不為人知的音樂故事？村上最近在casa談了許多他與心愛音樂與唱片軟體相遇的趣事。

(註:行家都說村上小說或許頗有爭議,但他的散文著實好看,尤其若讀者也很愛音樂,那更是敲中心坎去了;觀下文村上談他上天下地找黑膠的經驗,真是標準發燒友一咖,同好必有共鳴)

【唱片收集癖】

「從以前開始我就有收集的癖好。看電影一定要買光碟，想看的話就要馬上去買一張。但意外的是，對書本我倒沒有收集癖。看完書後就可以丟在一邊了，對初版書籍也沒什麼興趣。

以前因為工作可能會用到還會把書留下來，現在因為在亞馬遜之類的網站能馬上買到，連這個必要也沒有了。」

「但是，黑膠唱片的話就不一樣了。雖然我也會在YouTube上聽音樂、買買CD什麼的，可以的話還是會儘量收集唱片版本，古典音樂也會儘量買原版。對於唱片，有著非常嚴重的收集癖。」

(註:村上書房照上的黑膠總量已超出一萬張,看他這種熱勁,遲早房間不夠放)

【最喜歡的唱片店】

「每次去美國書店『Barnes & Noble』的時候，會發現CD區漸漸縮小，唱片區反而越變越大，這一點我也覺得很驚訝。我經常在國外大量買入黑膠唱片，遇到流失的版本也確實沒有辦法。

外國的收藏家們就非常了解我這種心情。」

若非得選一張自己最愛的"荒島"唱片，村上選了Billie Holiday的《I Can't Get Started》

「我現在最喜歡買爵士樂唱片的地方，是斯德哥爾摩。那裡有兩家喜歡的店，每間都很大，要全部看完得用三天時間。

即使如此，我還是用了整整三天在裡面淘寶，完全把妻子忘在了腦後。那時候她好像也去買古董了（笑）。

就這樣，到了第三天的時候，店主突然說：『過來過來！想看點好東西嗎？』『想看！』他帶我到了裡面的房間，平常店主似乎在這裡居住，還有電爐之類可以搞定吃飯的東西。

在那旁邊，就是一座藏滿寶物的唱片架——這可是不花上三天就看不到的架子。店主雖然想賣給我，但都沒標註價格，我也一個個問了下來。」

「北歐有很多不錯的唱片行，一般集中在斯德哥爾摩，其次是哥本哈根。奧斯陸稍顯遜色，成熟度還不夠。芬蘭的爵士角落也很有趣，就算我是因為工作旅行到了那裡，也會確保有足夠的空閒時間去逛逛。以前還會查好黃頁，把地圖列印出來，到租賃中心借一輛自行車到處轉；最近開始用谷歌地圖，變得輕鬆很多。」

關於唱片，有意思的經歷

「如今我已經逛過世界上的許多家唱片店，最近在巴黎和倫敦沒碰到什麼大的店，在紐約倒是有不錯的地方。波士頓也很棒。

當時在波士頓住的時候，還有十幾家二手唱片店，現在只剩5、6家了。當時我每周都要把每家唱片店都逛個遍，連在哪裡停車都仔細記好，制定了詳細路線出來。每家店的樣子都記得很深刻。

前不久回波士頓再去的時候，被店裡的人認出『你不是那個村上先生嗎？』我回答，『我很早以前開始不就一直來嗎。』店長說：『知道倒是知道，但並不認識你呀。早說就便宜點賣給你了。』」

「美國的二手唱片店經常有很多奇怪的人，比如有家店的3個店員會聚在一起，互相問答音樂冷知識，有時候我也會舉手搶答一下。簡直就跟《失戀排行榜》那部電影一樣。」

「說到有意思的店，我去維也納的時候，維也納愛樂樂團的經歷也是唱片狂熱分子。我問他哪裡有好唱片行，『有倒是有，很遠哦，』他回答。

『沒關係，反正有借車。』根據他的說法，這家店在沿著多瑙河一直走的一條小街上。我半信半疑地去了那裡，發現是家並不大的小唱片店。

本來想看看就走了，但越看越迷失在唱片的海洋里——裡面全是唱片架，而且全是精品。

我在這個『魔窟』里逛了整整一周，買了很多張爵士唱片，古典音樂更是數不盡數，到後來因為沒想過怎麼搬運，手裡都拿不動了。

這是我見過的最厲害的二手唱片店，這種地方只有發燒友才能找到。」

Turntable Belt Length
If you are unable to find your system or manufacturer listed below check out the overall length of the belt fitted and you should be able to find the belt you require. Select the nearest length, if you are unable to find the exact length (as belts stretch slightly with use and age) choose the nearest shorter length. All belt sizes given are approximate and may vary.
To check drive belt length for most Japanese type full platter decks remove mat and lift platter off centre spindle (remove circlip if fitted), turn platter over and measure the circumference of the drive hub and deduct 5-10mm to determine correct length and tension. Fit the new belt onto the drive hub and replace the platter then hook the belt over the drive pulley through the inspection hole in the platter before replacing the mat. The drive hub circumference can also be calculated by its diameter D using the equation D x 3.142 (Pi).

The process for split platter transcription type decks is similar except in this case the outer section only needs to be lifted off and the measurement then taken around the drive hub and motor. The correct belt length can then be determined by deducting 5% of the measured dimension which generally equates to 20-30mm less than the measured dimension to ensure correct tension for the new belt.

Jilco and Namiki are among a few suppliers of styli and cartridge components in Japan and aren't retippers per se, however I have a cart that was purportedly retipped by Namiki. Japanese cos. tend to be mercurial and not easy to establish a relationship with. even my ex who was fluent in Japanese got the brush off when she made inquiries on my behalf.

1.Expert Stylus Repair (Wyndham Hodgson) are UK based and offer complete rebuilds. Contrary to what ive read the lead times aren't too lengthy, I don't think I've waited more than 45-60 days from mailing my cart to the UK and having it back in the US of A.

These are the guys to send your Linn Troika to, classic Supex (Koetsu) and literally anything other cart retippers/rebuilders wont touch. No web presence, email only: nfo@expertstylus.co.uk

Northwest Analogue are UK based and offer extensive rebuild services including rewinding coils, etc. I have not used them but heard one of their rebuilt Koetsus and it was excellent, the craftsmanship looked top-notch too.
